ABSTRACT
La leishmaniasis es considerada por la Organizacion Mundial de la Salud un importante problema de salud publica. Sus manifestaciones difieren mucho, tanto en su expresion como su gravedad. Su diversidad clinica plantea un desafio diagnostico. Se presenta el caso de leishmaniasis cut nea en un paciente procedente de Otuzco (La Libertad) que no mostraba las cl sicas lesiones de esta patolog¡a. el diagn¢stico se confirm¢ por histopatolog¡a donde se evidenciaron amastigotas. Se le inici¢ tratamiento con estibogluconato de sodio con mejor¡a de las lesiones. Por su polimorfismo, la leishmaniasis debe ser incluida en el diagn¢stico diferencial de las dermatosis faciales cr¢nicas.
Leishmaniasis is considered a major public health problem by the World Health Organization. Their manifestations differ significantly, both in its expression and irs severity. Its clinical diversity presents us with a diagnostic challenge. We present the case of cutaneous leishmaniasis in a patient from Otusco (La Libertd) not showing the classic lesions of this pathology. The diagnosis was confirmed by histopathology where amastigotas became apparent. Started you treatment with improvement of the lesions with sodium stibogluconate. By its polymorphism, leishmaniasis should be included in the differential diagnosis of chronic facial dermatoses.
